I joined the North Central Mother’s Network (NCMN) 12 months ago. Given my passion for women’s health especially postpartum, the decision was a no brainer. I offered the committee the skillset I’m most adept in, and my role at NCMN became about branding, marketing, design, website, and some operations. I decided to call myself a Technologist as I oversaw all things tech.
Why am I sharing this with you?
Because I was reflecting back on this year, and realised that I didn’t achieve a lot of things I had planned for Tridevi. Which of course makes sense, given I’m a mum of 2 little ones, have a part-time IT job, a business and am part of the NCMN committee.
So instead of berating myself for not achieving enough, I looked at these photos, took a deep breath, and reframed my year:
- I made some beautiful friendships with some incredible women
- I made some beautiful stuff (website, marketing collateral) for a committee that is hellbent on serving and improving our local community
- I made peace with my soul as my promise to reach and impact more women is slowly but surely happening.
I look at the beautiful faces of my children and remind myself that my work today will hopefully make a difference on their (or their partner’s) birth and postpartum journey, if they choose to go down that path one day.
One day, they may forgive their mother for being a neurotic, overthinking nutjob who just loves getting shit done and making an impact.
One day, I will look back at my life and know that I did my best.
Joining the NCMN committee has been a godsend, professionally and personally. I can’t wait to meet with the committee members next week to plan for next year.
