Tampons are considered a plugging product, meaning they impede the flow of menstrual blood.

In contrast, a sanitary pad allows for blood to move out more freely. I personally like eco friendly options such @‌tomorganics or @‌hannahpad, I haven’t used the latter for a while but contemplating using them again.

Menstrual cups are close second to sanitary pads, but anecdotal evidence shows it’s still not ideal for all women.
