This is why I highly recommend pregnant women to see a peristeam specialist like myself and a pelvic floor physiotherapist.
Your pelvic floor does a number during pregnancy and birth. Vaginal births can cause more trauma than c-section births, but the pelvic floor is compromised during pregnancy regardless.
🫁 Several organs move and shift as your baby grows and takes up much needed space.
👶🏽After birth, these organs should return back to its original place but this doesn’t always happen. The weight of carrying your baby, then birthing all wreak havoc on your pelvic floor.
♨️ Pelvic steaming helps tonify and strengthen the tissues in the pelvic region. Though it is most effective straight after birth, its benefits can be reaped no matter how far along you are in your postpartum journey.
🏋🏽♀️Pelvic floor physiotherapy is another no-brainer. Proper functioning of your pelvic floor can prevent and resolve many of the issues women face during or post pregnancy.
So do yourself a favour and find these crucial postpartum services whilst you’re still pregnant. Your future self will thank you for it!
